In vivo YELLOW arrows show the Hydatid Cyst.  It is located INSIDE the pulmonary tissue (blue arrows)

Green arrows: the diaphragm.

The lack of any 'anthracotic' (coal-black) appearance of the Lung's surface is notable (a Never-smoker's Lung surface is pink)

In vivo YELLOW arrows show the Hydatid Cyst.

The Cyst is located inside the Lung (blue arrows).

In vitro

The Hydatid Cyst (YELLOW arrows) has already been wholly removed in one piece, intact (unbroken) and it is taken away from the patient's body.  Cyst sitting intact inside a metallic surgical bowl.

Out and away from the patient's body (in vitro).

In vitro

The Hydatid Cyst (YELLOW arrows) was wholly removed in one piece and intact in this case, too.

The difference, however, from the case above is that:

in this case a small-sized piece of Lung tissue (blue arrows)  had to be removed along with the cyst:

a pulmonary "wedge resection" was carried out.

Purple arrows point at the staples' line of the resected specimen.
